Beyond the Enchanting Cityhood of Vigan

Vigan City is a beautiful city in the Philippines with a rich history. It used to be a small municipality, but now it has grown into a thriving city. This blog post explores the history of Vigan City, from its humble beginnings as a municipality to its present-day.

In the source that I have found, Vigan was found in the 16th century by the Spanish. It was originally a small settlement. Vigan was a major trading center, and it was also home to a number of important government buildings. In the 19th century, Vigan was the capital of the Ilocos Sur province. The city was a center of learning and culture, and it was home to a number of prestigious schools and universities.

The city has continued to grow and prosper since then. Today, Vigan is a popular tourist destination just like the Calle Crisologo being the most famous tourist spot. The city is known for its well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture. Vigan City is a city with a bright future. The city is continuing to grow and develop, and it is really a fascinating place to learn about its historicity.

Bloom for a fresh start

 DRAFT 2

This year, my mantra is "New Year, New Me," but with a distinct twist. I'm making my dreams my top priority instead of putting love first. This means that I'm letting love aside to relentlessly pursue my dreams. I've come to realize that my aspirations, my ambitions, and my personal growth deserve equal, if not greater, attention.

I am not saying that I'm turning my back on love or dismissing it's significance. Rather, I'm recognizing that my happiness and fulfilment are deeply intertwined with achieving my goals. Letting love take a backseat doesn't make me heartless. It means I'm taking care of myself and building a strong foundation for a good life.

This year, I'm dedicated to achieving my goals. I'm studying hard, working diligently, and pursuing my passions with enthusiasm. I'm learning to say no to things that distract me, to manage my time effectively, and to rely on myself. My journey of self-discovery and achievement comes first.

A minimalist holiday

 DRAFT 1

After the Christmas party ended on December 20, 2024, we went to Onederland. Walking past the place we always wanted to go ever since it opened. We captured it's beauty and enjoying the moment that filled us with an indescribable sense of joy. Although it was a fleeting moment, it was a cherish experience that will mark on my memory. Then the next few days that I have spent were a bit uneventful for me. I spent most of my time doing the usual, sleeping, eating, and scrolling through TikTok.

However, that Christmas Eve was a highlight. We gathered as a family for the first time because usually it was just the four of us, my mother, my two siblings and myself. It was kind of gloomy since my father couldn't come back home to celebrate it with us since he is in Singapore. Our uncles and aunties from my father's side were there anyways when we celebrate Christmas. Despite not having him around, we were able to enjoy. We played games, won prizes, enjoyed delicious food, and also exchange gifts. We also receive an ampao that our auntie from Canada gave us. It was a blast!

Then on New Year's eve, we started the day by attending the church, followed by a relaxed evening with my family, eating, sharing drinks and conversations as we wait to greet the new year. As the clock struck midnight, we cheered, jumped with excitement, and welcomed the new year. After the celebrations, we settled down and eventually went to sleep. It may be just a simple celebration for us but we were still able to make it memorable.
